They contain more Green Lipped Mussel, more Hyaluronic Acid and more added fish oil compared to our standard supplements.

Why do you recommend to double dose for the first 4-6 weeks?

Using the loading dose should help to speed up the incorporation of Omega-3 Fatty Acids into the phospholipid membranes, so there should be a shorter time to see benefits.

We recommend continuing with the loading dose until the owner and vet are both happy that there is a difference, then the amount can be reduced to the maintenance dose. Therefore, they may not need to use the loading dose for the full 4-6 weeks.

Can I give YuMOVE ADVANCE 360 Joint Care to a dog with pancreatitis?

Given some dogs with pancreatitis will be on a specific 'tailored' diet we would always recommend the vet makes a decision on a risk/benefit based analysis. The fat levels in a YuMOVE ADVANCE 360 chew are around 10% to help with this decision. We would recommend reaching out to usvetcare@yumove.com if you would like any further information.

Can I give YuMOVE ADVANCE 360 Joint Care to a dog with Diabetes mellitus?

YuMOVE ADVANCE 360 Soft Chews contain molasses. The decision to use YuMOVE ADVANCE 360 soft chews in dogs in diabetes mellitus needs to be a decision made by the attending veterinarian based on a risk vs. benefit analysis and where the patient’s condition can be monitored as would be the case with any change to the diet of any dog with diabetes mellitus.

As regards whether you use a loading dose or not (twice maintenance for 4-6weeks), this is up to the clinical judgement of the veterinary surgeon/veterinarian. Loading may fast track any potential benefits for the joints.

For those patients where the YuMOVE ADVANCE 360 soft chews are thought inappropriate, you can consider using YuMOVE ADVANCE 360 cat, as there is no added molasses/sugar within the cat capsules.

Can I give YuMOVE ADVANCE 360 Joint Care to a dog with Kidney disease?

Some dogs may be on phosphate restricted diet for this condition and so you may need to consider YuMOVE inline with the dog's diet.

There will be a small amount of phosphate present within the chew substrate and trace amounts within the GLM. This amount is likely to be relatively low compared to the rest of the diet. However, the attending veterinarian will need to decide based on a risk vs. benefit analysis about the use of YuMOVE Advance soft chews in dogs with kidneys disease.

If you wish to avoid concern the customer can switch to use YuMOVE ADVANCE 360 for Cats (as these have no added phosphorus).

Can YuMOVE ADVANCE 360 Chews be used in cases of IBD?

Dogs with IBD would usually be on a hypoallergenic diet in order to manage their condition as there may be specific food ingredients (usually from a protein source) which could trigger a flare of their IBD. For this reason, we would always recommend checking for any specific ingredients that could cause a flare for each individual case. Please contact Customer Care if you would like any advice about specific ingredients. It is also important to note that our ingredients are not hydrolysed.

If administering YuMOVE to a dog with IBD, in order to reduce the risk of any gastrointestinal upset (which is very rare), we would recommend starting on a lower then advised amount of YuMOVE i.e. half the maintenance level for a few days. If the dog/cat tolerates this low level, the amount administered can then be increased to the appropriate maintenance levels according to the weight of the dog/cat.

We would recommend reaching out to usvetcare@yumove.com if you would like any further information.

Are there any side effects?

As with any new dietary change, sometimes adding YuMOVE into the dog’s diet may cause some mild gastrointestinal upset and diarrhoea in some rare cases. If this happens, it is usually mild and resolves itself. Sometimes it may be necessary to stop the YuMOVE, let the digestive system settle down and reintroduce again, but this time starting at a very low amount and building up to the label amount gradually. This will allow the digestive system time to adjust to the new dietary elements.

Do I need to induce vomiting if they overconsume YuMOVE ADVANCE 360 Chews?

We always take the safety of our products very seriously and are constantly reviewing our adverse event data. We have a huge database of customer feedback and of the occasional overconsumption cases reported, many remain asymptomatic though some may have mild gastrointestinal signs such as diarrhoea. We have commissioned a YuMOVE tablet overconsumption report from the VPIS (UK based service). This report also showed many asymptomatic overconsumptions and those with signs generally remained limited to mild gastrointestinal upset. The VPIS do not recommend the induction of vomiting in the case of a YuMOVE tablet overdose.

Although the active ingredients in the tablets are exactly the same in the chews, the chew format contains additional ingredients. Each chew contains a very small amount of salt which is not of concern at the recommended level. Although we have not had any reports of any serious concerns with a chew over consumption, should this occur, the vet may wish to take salt levels into consideration.

Individual idiosyncratic reactions are very rare. However, we would always advise the vet needs to make a decision on treatment based on a risk vs benefit analysis. The same applies if the dog has an underlying chronic health condition.
